August 24, 2011

Hello;
It's crazy that school has started. I didn't think that it would come. But I do know how getting up in the morning can be a pain in the butt. Luckily I'm forced to go to bed at 10:30 so I get enough sleep, unlike my little brothers that stay up until the wee hours of night ha ha. Well a lot has happened in the last week. Elder Snow and I have been teaching a lot of lessons to our investigators, Alan is really receptive to what we are teaching him and is going really well. Although our last visit to him which I think was Saturday, he fell out of a tree and broke his back. We gave him a blessing to help comfort him and his family. Elder Snow offered it and it was such an amazing experience. The spirit was so strong. James is another story. He has different days, some days the lessons go really well and planned, and other times he doesn't want to listen or something. Zadok, you're already counting down the days huh. 709, that's weird.  How is school so far? We've done a lot of learning how to commit people and how to teach people not lessons. I've found that talking is very hard for me. Talking to find out more about someone, I don't know why but I feel awkward doing that. I need to get better at it cause what missionary would I be if I couldn't talk to someone and find out what they need to hear. The devotionals are really awesome here. A little cramped but the spirit is strong and I've taken a lot of notes. I write a ton in my journal too. I've never done this much writing and I'm excited to look back on it in a couple years and reread all my experiences and memories. That's awesome that Russell is working on his Eagle. Keep up the good work little brother. Show us all up! First one in our family to get his Eagle, (even out of dad! ha ha tenderfoot... :P ) Apparently I'm the goofy Elder in our district. I don't know if that's a compliment or not. Goofy can be both I suppose. Keep up the good work in reading the scriptures. It's amazing how reading them can really bless your life. I've learned so much from really reading the scriptures verse by verse and really thinking about what each verse means. I don't get to read very much in my studies cause I'm doing that but it's awesome. How is Emergency Essentials? Did Eric get the job? Tell Jay and Garrek to write me, just cause I'm not able to hang out with them anymore doesn't mean we can't be friends. I wanna make sure they are doing the right things even if I'm not there. How is David doing? Two missionaries in my zone were suppose to leave on Monday but for some reason their visa's didn't go through or something, one is going to Australia, and the other is going to New Zealand. They got put in my district and they find out later today where they are going to serve a temporary mission until their visa's get cleared. It's crazy to think at this time next week I will be in the mission field, sweating it up in Tallahassee. Kind of scary but I know the Lord with be with me, and I have nothing to worry about because I have been set apart to be a missionary and am worthy to have is spirit as my guide and he will put the word into my mouth that people need to hear as long as I do my part and be obedient. Well I've gotta go and do some more missionary prep stuff. Enjoy your week.
Love Elder Matt Klingler
